When you Ride Closer to Free, you’re joining Connecticut’s best organized cycling event. Now in its 7th year, the 2017 Closer to Free Ride is the one you don’t want to miss. Starting and ending at the historic Yale Bowl, the CTF Ride features four professionally-designed and fully-supported routes: 10 miles, 25 miles, 62.5 miles and the iconic CTF Century at 100 miles.
The Closer to Free Ride delivers an incredible event experience from the time you register, as you’ll be joining our passionate and inspiring community. From the stirring Opening Ceremony to routes filled with nourishing rest stops and cheering volunteers to the triumphant Finish Line Festival, you’ll be amazed at every turn. You’ll ride alongside cancer survivors and those riding in honor of those they’ve lost.
Every dollar you raise supports patient care and research at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. That’s right: One hundred percent of the funds you raise as a Ride participant go directly to patient care and advanced research. Each rider commits to raising at least $500 (but don’t worry, we give you lots of help and the average rider raises more than $1,100!) and you can be confident that those dollars will be put to good work in New Haven and beyond.
