I'm excited to announce that I will be participating in my 2nd Closer to Free Ride on September 7.
Last years ride was amazing experience and I want to challenge myself again. One of my many fond memories from the ride was out in the farmlands of Durham. I was by myself about half way up a huge hill. I made it to the top (barely) and started to think about how far I had to the finish line. Doing some quick math I realized I was not even at the halfway point.... I rode for another few minutes (starting to question my decision to ride) and could see in the distance an older gentleman sitting at the end if his driveway in a lawn chair with a sign. As I got closer he stood up, waved and saluted, and held up a sign that said "because of you...a cancer survivor lives here". All I could think about from that point was what he must have been though... and at that point my ride didn't seem nearly as difficult.
Please consider supporting me for this great cause.
Did you know that 100% of the funds I raise goes to research and patient care at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. So the more I raise, the more people we can help together. Thank you for helping us bring the world Closer to Free of cancer and thank you for your generous donation!
